KPV is a synthetic tripeptide consisting of the amino acid sequence Lysine-Proline-Valine (K-P-V), representing the C-terminal tripeptide sequence of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH). α-MSH and its terminal fragments have been studied extensively in the context of melanocortin receptor signaling, with particular interest in their roles in inflammatory pathway modulation.
