Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide (DSIP) is a synthetic nonapeptide with the sequence Trp-Ala-Gly-Gly-Asp-Ala-Ser-Gly-Glu. CAS 62568-57-4, molecular formula C₃₅H₄₈N₁₀O₁₅, molecular weight 848.86 g/mol. It was first isolated from the cerebral venous blood of rabbits in 1977 by Monnier and colleagues following thalamic stimulation.
DSIP does not appear to interact with a single identified receptor but has been shown to modulate multiple neuroendocrine systems in research models, including corticotroph regulation, hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis signaling, and GABA and opioid receptor systems. Research applications include studies of neuropeptide interactions with stress response pathways, circadian rhythm models, and multi-receptor pharmacology. It is also used as a reference compound in neuroendocrine peptide characterization studies.
Supplied as a lyophilized powder. Each lot is independently tested by HPLC-UV with a minimum purity threshold of ≥99.0%. Molecular identity confirmed by LC-MS prior to release. Certificate of Analysis available for every lot number.
